Materials
The main materials used by HSV P&I are expanded polystyrene (EPS) and expanded polypropylene (EPP). EPS and EPP, along with their variants, offer a unique combination of properties that help make packaging, insulation elements and technical moulded parts so versatile in their range of applications.

Polystyrene and polypropylene are polymers from the group referred to as 'thermoplastics'. Via polymerisation, the respective monomers are strung out to form a long chain of molecules: the polymer.

Depending on the package of requirements and wishes, a range of EPS and EPP variants are employed. Benefits of EPS and EPP:
-Highly insulative
-Excellent shock-absorbency
-Environmentally-responsible
-Lightweight
-Minimal water absorption
-Efficient to process
-Large degree of design freedom for the shape
-High dimensional stability
-Unaffected by climatic conditions

EPP is also strong, stiff, highly chemically stable and offers high UV stability.
