Polyurethane RIM
Using the RIM (reaction injection moulding) technique, large and structural moulded parts are produced from polyurethane foam. This production method is a low-pressure technique, which allows the use of relatively simple moulds and offers a number of advantages::
-favourable stiffness-to-weight ratio
-thick-walled constructions and designs are possible
-inclusion of 'inlays' (foam for insulation, metal for reinforcement) is possible
-large product dimensions and weights of up to 30 kg
-simple to screw, glue, paint
-flame retardance in accordance with UL94 V0
-integration of assembly elements possible
-electromagnetic shielding is possible

For visible and/or outdoor applications, RIM-PUR elements are painted; options range from a simple single-layer system to multiple-layer (high gloss) systems.

HSV TMP uses this technique to produce moulded parts for applications such as:
-moulded parts for professional sunbeds
-lighting fixtures for applications in the road and water infrastructure and offshore sectors
-housings for technical equipment
-housings for medical equipment
