EPS and EPP, a responsible choice
Just 2% raw material is enough to make a 100% complete product from our expanded plastics. The other 98% is nothing more than ordinary air. This extremely low raw material consumption shows that our raw materials are extremely economical materials. Furthermore, our advanced design techniques enable us to produce material-thrifty designs, so no more raw material is used than is strictly necessary for the product function.
EPS is also 100% recyclable and therefore serves as a usable raw material for many other plastic products. Under the slogan 'old material as raw material', the EPS industry has now established various successful collection systems. This puts the EPS sector among the leaders in the plastics-processing industry.
Safe for product, people and environment
Our EPS has always been CFC-free. The material is hygienic, groundwater neutral and non-toxic, so it poses no health risk and can be used without causing any problems. For the expansion of polystyrene to form EPS, use is made of the blowing agent pentane. This is a pure hydrocarbon and poses no danger to people or the ozone layer.

Don't throw it away. Return it for re-use!
In principle, EPS packaging material is a single-use product. But single-use certainly doesn't mean it should be thrown away after use. After all, EPS is 100% recyclable, and we shouldn't waste such a material. Therefore HSV collects EPS and re-uses it in new products.
